“ When I was younger I always wanted to make a studio that worked together to create stories that came from the inner depths of an artist’s spirit. I made many attempts to find people who share the same passion. After countless failures and endless searching, I finally found these artists who put their soul into their works. I will support them till the end.” ” –M.B
What is PiGtAiL studio?
It is a group of artists that hold joint projects that include, but are not limited to, animation and comics. These artists do not limit themselves to create just animation or comics. Their main focus is to tell stories through many different mediums and to learn from each other. Many members of the studio are still learning to work with one another, how to express themselves through different types of art and, most importantly, find their calling as a creator. They work together on promoting each other as well as teaching one another. These artists have yet to become professional or well known. With the support of fans and the effort that the artists put in, the studio hopes to bring uniquely stunning work to life.
The Studio produces two types of work
“Individual Projects” and “Collaborative Projects”.
“Individual Projects” – Only have one main artist, creator or director that is responsible for the production of this piece. They have full authority of the direction that the project takes. They control everything from character design to copyright(s) for the project. The artist may have assistants working under them.
“Collaborative Projects” – These works are combined ideas of more than one member or artist. It is basically a group project that was created under more than one artist. Unlike the individual project, there will be more than one person that directs the project.
How it all came about…
The first significant step towards the formation of the studio happened when Jennifer and M.B. decided to collaborate on a personal side-project. They both wanted to try something that they haven’t done before, working with each other. Since they were both only college freshman, what seemed like a small task, was a large project for them to undertake. Through all the stress of college life, they managed to find the time and effort to work on this collaboration. After some time the partnership grew into a group when Kate and Kevin decided to join in to give it a try and start a new project with the group. With determination at three am in the morning on early spring of 2007 the PiGtAiL Studio was fashioned.
